Police hope video will ID robber of taxi
Cincinnati police are showing dramatic “cab-cam” pictures of a Thursday night cab robbery in hopes that someone will recognize the man who pointed his gun at a cab driver's head.

The photographs from the infrared camera inside the Yellow Cab clearly show the man in the back seat pointing a black semiautomatic pistol at the driver's head, said Detective Jeff Dunaway.

Then, after the driver obeyed the robber's order to put his head on the steering wheel, the robber reached over, took $90 and got out of the taxi at 665 W. McMicken Street in Over-the-Rhine about 11:20 p.m.

The 28-year-old driver, who was not immediately identified, was not hurt. Detective Dunaway did not know more details because he had not yet spoken to the driver Friday.

The investigator is asking anyone who might recognize the robber to call Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
